Pre-Planning Event Schedule

Dinner and Meet & Greet
DesignMil organizers will give a short presentation, and then provide dinner. Afterwards, you'll meet your team for the first time. Creative teams will meet with their nonprofit to determine tactics to be completed the day of DesignMil. This meeting is mandatory for all participants and nonprofit representatives.

Preparing for the Pre-Planning Event
1. Prioritize your item(s)
Even though we’ve provided options for pre-determined packages, you may find out while talking with your team that they can take on more than you originally requested, or you may find that you need to reduce the amount of work into something more manageable for the 12-hour period. If you have a list of priorities, write them down and share them with your creative team so they can start at the top and work their way down.
2. Have your content ready
Make sure to have your text written, images gathered, and any other content ready to hand over to your design team.
3. Strategize Final File Sharing
We have outlined in our schedule a time slot that your designers can send/share their files with you. Discuss your preference to receive your files. We highly recommend creating a shared Google Drive folder or Dropbox folder.
4. Keep an open mind
Your design team is made up of very talented, creative people with lots of ideas.
1. Be sure to bring the following if you need it:
- Computer with all necessary software
- Computer charger
- USB drive or other means to share files quickly
- Pencils, pens, anything else you need to sketch ideas
- Computer mouse or drawing tablet
- A water bottle to stay hydrated!
